Takayama Ukon
“Christian Daimyo / Justo”
Lord of Takatsuki in Settsu, a devout Christian daimyo baptised Justo. In the tea ceremony he was counted among Rikyū's seven disciples. He distinguished himself as Hideyoshi's vanguard at Yamazaki and Shizugatake. But he refused to renounce his faith under the anti-Christian edicts of Hideyoshi and Ieyasu, finally abandoned domain and rank, was banished to Manila and died there of illness. His life of unbending faith is remembered to this day.

Life
- Tenshō 10 Battle of Yamazaki Beat the Akechi as Hideyoshi's vanguard.
- Tenshō 15 Refusing to Renounce Kept his faith despite Hideyoshi's edict and lost his domain of Akashi.
- Keichō 19 Exile Abroad Banished to Manila for his faith, he died there the following year.
