Kobayakawa Takakage
“One of the Mōri "Two Rivers"”
Third son of Mōri Motonari, who inherited the Kobayakawa house and supported the Mōri with his "wisdom" as his brother Motoharu did with his "arms." He commanded the Inland Sea navies and distinguished himself at Itsukushima and in sea battles everywhere. Deeply trusted by Hideyoshi, he was granted Chikuzen after the Kyushu campaign and counted among the Elders. He is also known for the deep calculation with which he adopted Hideyoshi's nephew Hideaki, shielding the main Mōri line from trouble.
