Kuroda Nagamasa
“Architect of Sekigahara”
Eldest son of the strategist Kuroda Yoshitaka (Kanbei). He made his name in Korea, and at Sekigahara fought the Ishida contingent head-on while single-handedly managing the intrigues with Kikkawa Hiroie and Kobayakawa Hideaki that broke the Western Army from within. Rewarded with Chikuzen, 520,000 koku, he became the founder of the Fukuoka domain.

- Tenshō 17 Succession Succeeded to the Kuroda house on his father Kanbei's retirement.
- Keichō 5 Sekigahara Fought the Ishida contingent while his intrigues delivered the Eastern victory.
- Keichō 5 Chikuzen, 520,000 koku Transferred to Fukuoka with a great increase for his services, becoming founder of the domain.
