Mōri Katsunaga
“The Great Commander of Osaka”
A daimyo who served the Toyotomi alongside his father, he was dispossessed for siding with the Western Army at Sekigahara and confined in Tosa. When the Siege of Osaka began he escaped, entered the castle and became a core Toyotomi commander. In the Summer Campaign he broke Tokugawa contingents such as Honda Tadatomo's one after another and fought his way toward Ieyasu's headquarters. Though his deeds matched Sanada Yukimura's, his name long lay in Yukimura's shadow. When the castle fell he acted as second in Hideyori's suicide, then took his own life.
