Oda Nobutada
“Heir of the Oda”
Nobunaga's eldest son, given the headship of the house and Gifu Castle at an early age as his successor. In the Takeda campaign he showed his quality as commander-in-chief, taking Takatō Castle and destroying the Takeda. On the morning of Honnō-ji he was at Myōkaku-ji in Kyoto; he moved to save his father but was too late, made a stand in the Nijō Palace against the great Akechi army and, hopelessly outnumbered, took his own life. The young head who should have carried the Oda into the future.

- Tenshō 4 Succession Received the headship of the Oda house and Gifu Castle from Nobunaga.
- Tenshō 10 Conquest of the Takeda As commander-in-chief he took Takatō Castle and destroyed the Takeda.
