Satake Yoshishige
“Yoshishige the Demon”
Head of the Satake, who extended their power from Hitachi. Known for a valour that earned him the name "Yoshishige the Demon," he has the legend of the "seven-rider slaying," cutting down seven enemies with a single stroke. He clashed fiercely with Date Masamune as he pushed into southern Ōshū, and at Hitotoribashi in Tenshō 13 led an allied army of 30,000 with the Ashina that surrounded Masamune's 7,000 and drove him to the brink. But affairs at home forced him to withdraw. He later submitted to Hideyoshi and was confirmed in Hitachi, 540,000 koku, but failed to declare himself at Sekigahara and was reduced and transferred to Akita in Dewa after the war.
