Konishi Yukinaga

“The Christian Daimyo”

The son of a Sakai druggist, he was promoted by Hideyoshi, ran naval and supply affairs and received Uto in Higo as a Christian daimyo. In the Korean campaigns he led the vanguard, first to reach Hanseong, and worked hard for peace. He sided with the Western Army at Sekigahara and was defeated; refusing to kill himself as a Christian, he was captured and beheaded at Rokujō-gawara.

Life

  3. Keichō 5 Sekigahara and death Defeated with the Western Army; refusing suicide for his faith, he was beheaded.
