Sakai Tadatsugu
“Foremost of Tokugawa's Four Guardians”
The foremost of Tokugawa's Four Guardians and the most senior of the elders, who had followed Ieyasu since his days as an Imagawa hostage. In the rout at Mikatagahara he is said to have beaten "Sakai's drum" to hearten the garrison and turn back the pursuit. At Nagashino he proposed and carried out the raid on the Tobigasu forts, striking the Takeda from behind and deciding the victory.

- Genki 3 Sakai's Drum After the rout at Mikatagahara he beat the castle drum and turned back the Takeda pursuit.
