Taira no Noritsune

“Fiercest Warrior of the Taira”

Son of Kiyomori's brother Norimori, celebrated as the fiercest warrior of the whole Taira clan. He harried the Minamoto everywhere, and at Yashima shot down Satō Tsugunobu. In the final moments at Dan-no-ura, the Tale of the Heike tells, he pursued Yoshitsune as he escaped in the eight-boat leap, then seized two enemy warriors under his arms and threw himself into the sea.
