Nasu no Yoichi
“The Fan Target”
A young master archer said to have come from the Nasu warriors of Shimotsuke. At the battle of Yashima, when the Taira raised a fan on the pole of a boat and dared the Minamoto to shoot it, he took aim at the target on the sea from the shore on Yoshitsune's orders. With a single arrow he brought down the fan on the boat rocking in the waves, and the Tale of the Heike tells how cheers rose from both sides.
