Zhang Liao
“One of the Five Great Generals”
A former retainer of Lü Bu who surrendered to Cao Cao after the fall of Xiapi and was highly valued. Combining courage and leadership, he campaigned everywhere from Guandu onward. At the battle of Hefei he led 800 men in a death-defying raid on Sun Quan's 100,000, drove back an enemy that had reached the city walls, and it is said that crying children fell silent at "Liao is coming!"
